HOLIDAYS = PROFIT, TIME TO MAKE YOUR CALENDAR MORE EVENTFUL.
Did you know it was coffee day last Sunday?
If it passed you by, don’t worry too much, you weren’t the only one.
Why did I bring it up? Well, it’s an event, and an opportunity, an opportunity to engage with your customers and present a way to them to connect and become loyal to your business.
Now when we say holiday/event, we are not talking about Xmas, Halloween, or anything like that. Those holidays you will already have covered, plans in place, staff rotas etc. We are talking about the smaller, more niche days/week events that are reserved for one particular topic.
British Food Fortnight
National dessert day Etc.
These so-called ‘Micro-holidays’, are typically social media-driven events. They can provide your business with a lot of engagement if the theme directly relates to your product or service. However, if a holiday has broad enough appeal, anyone can join in.
With Coffee day, social media was filled with people talking about coffee day, prominent bloggers, customers and everyone in-between. Coffee content tends to have good social engagement, after all, artistic cappuccino designs are fun to photograph and look at. But it seemed Few businesses (particularly) capitalized in any meaningful way.
You may not even need to produce anything yourselves! One of the coolest things about marketing on these micro holidays is that hardcore fans of whatever’s being celebrated are already doing a lot of the content creation for you. Tapping into user-generated content can be a great way to do promotions, especially if you are on a tight budget.
The whole point is that if you decide on a relevant campaign and a good promotion, this kind of timeliness can be very effective.
So how do you keep on top of these things?
Well, there are a few resources:
HubSpot: Hubspot (A holy grail for us social marketing types.) have a great social media holiday calendar. This will sync with your google, apple or outlook calendar seamlessly, and give you advance warning of any ‘micro-holiday’
HootSuite: Alternatively the social media tool guru’s have put together a list of ‘micro-holidays’ for you to place into your calendar at will, so if you are looking for a few n particular, rather than having them all. This is a great place to go.
These micro-holidays got us thinking.

This is what Memberoo is about, giving you a toolkit to connect with your customers, engage with them to build their loyalty, learn their habits, and grow your business.
That’s why we wanted to be able to help you take the next step in your club, whatever it may be, with suggestions.
Suggestions is a new feature in the Memberoo dashboard, giving you a quick tip about what to do next in your loyalty club.

If you’re a store owner, you don’t need to install a robot to enhance the shopping experience. But the smartest stores are realising that they need to know more about their customers to start serving them better. That means encouraging them to share some of their data by giving them something valuable in return – special offers, discounts, the opportunity to be part of a club. That’s what Memberoo was built for.
